The
Port of Redwood City is the only
deepwater port in the southern San Francisco Bay. Over one million tons of waterborne
cargo move across the Port's wharves each year.
Although its history can be traced back to the 1850s when it was used to float logs
to San Francisco, the Port of Redwood City today handles a diverse group of building
trade and industrial bulk products. Wharves No. 1-5 are open for business 24 hours
per day and offer a wide variety of cargo handling equipment to make the job easier.
The Port has captured a unique “niche” market and Metro is front and center handling
products such as sand, cement, gravel, bauxite, gypsum, and aggregates.
