Long Beach is the home of The Aquarium of the
Pacific, the Queen Mary, the Toyota Grand Prix, the Waterfront and Shoreline
shopping districts, close proximity to Catalina Island and the beautifully
renovated Historic Downtown.
The Port of Long Beach is one of the world's
busiest seaport, a gateway for trade between United States and Asia.
Metropolitan Stevedore is the leading Terminal Operator for cargoes such as
Petroleum Coke, Coal, Potash, Borax, Soda Ash, Concentrates, and Prilled
Sulfur.
Metropolitan handles stevedore operations in Long Beach, Berth 32. Although
there are numerous manners to discharge cement, Berth 32 has a very unique
discharge operation. Cement is discharged via a rail mounted mobile unit that
is specially developed for the cement industry. This mobile unit called a
"Siwertell" offers unique methodologies by utilizing a screw or auger method to
discharge cement.
