Container Operations
Since containers first appeared on the shipping scene in the '60s, Metro Ports realized
their importance to international trade. We immediately began training our personnel
and added the necessary equipment and gear to our already large inventory.
Although thought of as incredibly advanced and innovative at the time, cargo movement
in containers is considered the norm today. By adding containerized shipments to
our repertoire, Metro became a full-service stevedore and terminal operator. The
latest technology and computerization of documentation quickly became integrated into
all existing systems.
Not everything moves in containers. But when it does, Metro is prepared to handle
it.
