Due to operating conditions, only Active (diesel burner) or Passive regeneration
(i.e. no electric heater) CARB approved Level III filters will be considered. Due
to safety concerns, filters should fit into the same “footprint” as the existing
mufflers (where practical). Bids are to include any necessary duty-cycle and/or
opacity testing to ensure that the DPF is adequate for the equipment use.
All interested parties must conform to the federal rules and regulations and reporting
requirements associated with this program as found in 40 CFR accessible through
the following link: Title 40 - Protection of Environment.
Bids will be accepted until October 30, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. PST. As required by EPA/POLB,
quotes must be itemized to include Material, Labor, Transportation (if applicable),
Tax and the Grand Total.
Interested parties should contact Craig Kappe, Environmental Compliance Manager
at (310)816-6607 or craig.kappe@metports.com for more details or information.
In order to retain the records and documentation as required by the EPA, kindly
submit all bids for the above work via electronic mail to Craig Kappe. It is also
highly recommended that questions and requests are communicated via electronic email.
